OV/OC Protection for Induction Heating Control

Protection Application:

For induction heating circuit, MOV or TVS was used to prevent OV either from high line voltage condition or regenerative voltage from the induction coil.

Solution Description:

MOV should be selected based on the expected severity (energy, voltage and peak pulse current) of the transient surge. The specific family (C-III, UltraMOV or LA) can be determined after the surge severity is understood.
