Design Notes:

Protection Application:

Microprocessor-controlled inverter with the AC output synchronized to the AC line. Prevents over-discharging of the battery. Threats include power line surges on AC Input and AC Output, improper connections throughout.

Solution Description:

AC Input: Normal Fuse/MOV. DC Battery Input: FKS (164.6185 Series) up to 40 Amps, TOE MAXI (142.6885 Series) up to 80 Amps & Unidirectional TVS. AC Output: Fuse/TVS.

Companion Solutions:

AC Output may use MOV in less exposed environments. Jcase Fuse could be used for current from 20A to 60A for voltage up to 50VDC
