Littelfuse Introduces 215SP Series 5x20mm Time-Lag Fuse with Single-Pigtail Design
Compact fuse gives designers a new alternative to the standard 215 Series pigtail fuse
2010-08-05 09:00:00 CHICAGO, Illinois, August 5, 2010 – Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS) has introduced the 215SP Series fuse, a single pigtail fuse that complements Littelfuse’s line of traditional pigtail fuses. Unlike the existing 215 Series, the 215SP Series fuse has one cap at each terminal side, rather than double caps at each side. By doing away with conventional overcapping, Littelfuse was able to offer a ceramic-body fuse with a more compact footprint in the 5x20mm size.
Applied to individual components and circuits, the new 250VAC fuse is ideal for providing supplementary protection in appliance or utilization equipment.
The new 215SP Series single pigtail fuse has the same circuit interrupting capacity and electrical characteristics as the existing 215 Series traditional pigtail fuses. Its interrupting ratingof 1500A at 250V AC is also consistent with the existing 215 Series. It meets the IEC 60127-2, Sheet 5 specification for time-lag fuses, and it carries approvals from variety of agencies, including UL, VDE, CCC and many others. It is 100 percent lead free and RoHS compliant.
It is available in a wide range of current ratings from 1A to 10A. A flexible manufacturing process enables Littelfuse to offer the 215SP fuse with improved lead times.
