The Hazard/Risk Category is used to help determine the required level of PPE. The categories are defined by NFPA 70E and range from category number -1 to 4.
NFPA 70E Table 130.7(C)(10)is a Matrix of Hazard/Risk Categories and describes the type of PPE suitable for each category. For more information, refer to NFPA 70E Table 130.7(C)(10)PPE manufacturer's information. Note: PPE selected must have ratings equal to or greater than the Hazard/Risk Category or the calculated incident energy.
