TX00AS314TRA enables high-sensitivity magnetic field sensing with 1.5 µA current draw for always-on, battery-powered designs
Rosemont, Ill., June 9, 2026—Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ: LFUS), an industrial technology manufacturing company shaping solutions for the safe and efficient transfer of electrical energy, today announced the TX00AS314TRA Omnipolar TMR Switch Sensor, a high-performance magnetic sensing solution designed for fast response, high sensitivity, and ultra-low power operation in compact, battery-powered applications.
The TX00AS314TRA integrates a precision TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sensing element with CMOS signal-processing circuitry—including an on-chip voltage generator, low-noise amplifier, comparator, and Schmitt trigger—to deliver accurate switching, strong noise immunity, and excellent thermal stability. The device features X-axis (in-plane) magnetic sensing, enabling detection of magnetic fields parallel to the sensor surface, thereby enabling greater mechanical design flexibility. It operates with a typical supply current of just 1.5 µA while supporting high-speed detection up to 1 kHz, enabling reliable sensing in dynamic, always-on systems. (Watch video in English, Chinese and Japanese.)
Unlike traditional hall-effect sensors, the TX00AS314TRA features omnipolar detection, allowing it to respond to both north and south magnetic poles. This simplifies magnet alignment, reduces mechanical constraints, and accelerates system design. Its precise operate and release thresholds, combined with built-in hysteresis, ensure clean, bounce-free switching even in electrically noisy environments.
“The TX00AS314TRA delivers a meaningful advancement in magnetic sensing efficiency,” said Julius Venckus, Sensors Global Products Manager at Littelfuse. “By combining omnipolar sensing with ultra-low 1.5µA power consumption, it enables engineers to design smaller, longer-lasting systems while simplifying mechanical and electrical design challenges.”

TX00AS314TRA Omnipolar TMR Switch Sensor FAQs
- What makes TMR technology better than hall-effect sensors?
TMR sensors offer higher sensitivity and significantly lower power consumption than hall-effect devices. This enables reliable detection with smaller magnets while extending battery life in always-on applications.
- What does omnipolar sensing mean for designers?
Omnipolar sensors detect both north and south magnetic poles, eliminating the need for precise magnet orientation. This simplifies mechanical design and reduces assembly complexity.
- How does the TX00AS314TRA improve battery life?
With a typical current consumption of just 1.5 µA, the device minimizes power consumption in continuous-sensing applications. This is especially valuable for IoT devices, smart meters, and wearables.
- What types of applications benefit most from this sensor?
Applications that require continuous operation, compact size, and high reliability—such as smart meters, proximity switches, and portable electronics—benefit most from its performance.
- How does the device maintain reliable switching in noisy environments?
An integrated Schmitt trigger and precise hysteresis ensure stable switching behavior. This prevents false triggering and ensures clean output signals even in electrically noisy systems.
- What is the key advantage over previous magnetic switch solutions?
The TX00AS314TRA combines omnipolar sensing, high sensitivity, and ultra-low power consumptionn a single device. This reduces design complexity while improving performance compared to legacy solutions.
- How does global manufacturing diversification support supply chain resilience?
Diversified manufacturing reduces dependency on a single region, helping mitigate risks such as logistics disruptions, tariffs, or regional constraints. This supports stable lead times, improved availability, and greater flexibility for global sourcing strategies.
