Mini Breaker (MHP)

Formally known as metal hybrid protection (MHP) devices, mini breakers provide overcurrent and overtemperature protection to rechargeable batteries. The compact devices combine resettable fuses with bimetallic thermal cutoffs to protect Li-ion and lithium polymer batteries for notebook PCs and power tools. Our MHPs rely on innovative polymer positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) technology to ensure long-lived resettable fuse performance. These mini breakers are also small enough to use with prismatic cells for mobile phones.
  • Available with multiple activation temperature ratings, from 72 ℃ to 90 ℃
  • Available with ampere ratings from 6 A to 18 A
  • Minimum reset temperatures of 40 ℃
  • Reset temperature change requirements of 7 ℃ or 10 ℃
  • Low maximum resistance ratings of 5 mΩ
  • Meet IEC 607301 and 60730-2-9 standards
  • UL Recognized
  • PPTC fuses act as heaters to help keep bimetallic thermal cutoff devices latched until faults are removed
  • Higher current ratings than typical thermal cutoff devices
  • Small sizes (e.g., 5.8x3.8x1.5 mm) allow for ultra-thin battery pack designs
