Reflowable thermal protectors (RTPs) provide overtemperature protection to batteries and temperature-sensitive electronics in data centers and telecommunications systems. The devices open when the temperatures of the circuits in which they are included rise above set points that are much higher than the maximum safe operating temperatures of the circuits. RTPs are often used in cars and trucks, and Littelfuse makes AEC-Q200–qualified automotive RTPs optimized for mounting on printed circuit boards.
