Terminals are connectors located at the ends of wires. They are used for quickly and securely connecting a wire to an electrical component to complete a circuit. A contact, made from conductive material, usually metal, completes a circuit when it touches another contact.
Automotive crimp terminals are connected to stripped wire by inserting the wire into the wire barrel on the terminal and compressing the wire and terminal together with a crimping tool. The terminal then allows the simple connection of the wire to a compatible component, such as a terminal block, fuse holder, or power distribution block.
