Reed switches open and close circuits based on signals received from magnetic sensors. The electromechanical switches themselves often form integral components of liquid level sensors used in industrial controls, coolant systems, and air conditioners. When signaled, a normally open switch closes a circuit to initiate an automated process or trigger an alarm. Littelfuse makes a broad array of reed switches in bare glass and overmolded packages.
